Quality Control Panel
The Quality Control Panel is made up of the Chief Medical Officer, The Quality Control Manager, The Medical Director of the Pittsburgh Bunker, and two at large Radiologists. The Panel will meet once/week to review, discuss, collate and categorize quality review data. Specific problems will be handled and responsibility assigned to ensure resolution of specific problems. Feedback to the referring institution about particular patient’s and particular problems will be at the discretion of the Chief Medical Officer. For recurring problems, this Panel will serve as the venue for radiologists to be counseled and discussions aired. A weekly report of this meeting will be submitted to the CEO. Additionally QA data will be collated across the Foundation system and quarterly reports will be submitted to the Hospitals radiology medical director and QA department. Every attempt will be made to provide representation to the QA governing board of the Hospital.
The Chief Medical Officer
The Chief Medical Officer of Foundation will serve as the administrative liaison to the Hospital’s QA Governing board and will attempt to provide ongoing support to the hospitals QA initiative. This includes ensuring that each hospital is aware of the dedication that Foundation devotes to ensuring the highest level of Radiology Care.
Legal Counsel
This QA program will undergo an initial comprehensive review by a dedicated Health Care Attorney. Additionally, yearly reviews by appropriate legal counsel will be undertaken to ensure that all safeguards are in place to protect the radiologists and the company from any unforeseen legal issues with respect to the inappropriate discovery of QA data.
Rapid Response Team Approach
We will move to develop a rapid response team approach to quality issues—this will allow quality issues to be dealt with on a real time basis within 12-24 hours of the even. We will strive to provide rapid and appropriate communication to the referring clinicians when needed. Additionally we will facilitate formal and prompt feedback to the hospital/clinic administrative and QA structural apparatus.
