Dr. Blodgett Bio

Todd M. Blodgett, M.D. is the president of FRG Molecular Imaging, a division of Foundation Radiology Group that specializesin high-quality PET/CT interpretations. He is an experienced radiologist with extensive PET and PET/CT training.

Dr. Blodgett formerly held the position of Chief of Cancer Imaging at the Hillman Cancer Center, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Blodgett earned his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and his medical degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh followed by his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He also has completed two year-long fellowships, one in PET and PET/CT imaging and one in oncologic imaging.  

He is author or co-author of over 20 peer-reviewed articles, 30 book chapters, several invited review articles, 50 scientific abstracts and 2 textbooks; he has given over 200 invited lectures on PET and PET/CT, including the esteemed plenary sessions at the Scientific Sessions of the RSNA.

He was involved with the initial clinical evaluation of the first prototype PET/CT scanner, which was installed at the University of Pittsburgh in 1998. Since 1998, the University of Pittsburgh has scanned over 120,000 patients, many of which Dr. Blodgett has reviewed.
